Descriere
Povestea Balvenie incepe in anul 1892 atunci cand William Grant construieste distileria Balvenie in casa abandonata Blavenie, in regiunea Speyside din Scotia. Datorita alchimiei naturale si maiestriei vechi de secole, Blavenie, este unic in randul producatorilor de single malt-uri. Procesul celor de la Blavenie, de confectionare a whisky-ului este dedicat intretinerii celor 5 mestesuguri rare si este singura distilerie din Scotia care inca isi creste singura propriul orz, foloseste inca pardosele traditionale pentru malt-uri si pastreaza inca atat un cazangiu cat si o echipa de dogari (oameni ce construiesc butoaie manual). Balvenie Double Wood 17 ani a fost elaborat de de maestrul distiler de la Blavenie, David C Stewart, care a revenit la una din cele mai mari realizari ale sale si anume maturarea in doua tipuri diferite de butoaie, de unde si numele de double wood, proces denumit adesea si finisare de butoi. Aceasta tehnica se regaseste in whisky-ul Balvenie Double Wood 17 ani, maturat prima oara in butoaie de stejar american care transmit note dulci de vanilie dupa care este transferat in butoaie de sherry europene unde acestea adauga arome bogate si picante. Double Wood 17 ani este un frate mai mare a celui de 12 ani si impartaseste caracteristicile sale picante cu note de miere, cu note mai profunde de vanilie, mar verde, crema de cafea toate cu o bogatie si o complexitate izbitoare.Miros: Are un miros elegant de stejar cu note de vanilie, miere si o nota de mar verdeGust: Gustul este unul dulceag de fructe uscate cu note de migdale si scortisoara imbinat cu note subtile de cafea si urme de stejar si vanilieFinish: Finish-ul este unul lung cu note de stejar vanilat, miere si o dulceata picanta
