Descriere
Infiintata in 1823 de James Findlater, pe locul unei distilerii ilicite mai vechi, Mortlach a fost prima distilerie legala din Dufftown. A fost singura distilerie din Dufftown pana la infiintarea Glenfiddich in 1887, fondatorul acesteia din urma, William Grant, lucrand la distileria Mortlach timp de 20 de ani inainte de a-si deschide el propria distilerie. Intre ani 1823 si 1853 distileria a trecut de la un propietar la altul, la un moment dat chiar devenind berarie. In 1923 John Walker &
Sons au cumparat distileria si o mare parte din whisky-ul sau a fost folosit in amestecurile Johnnie Walker.Mortlach Special Strength este un single malt este intarit folosind stejarul american si european de prima si a doua umplere, inclusiv unele butoaie reincarcate, acest sortiment fiind un sortiment cu imbuteliere limitata vanduta in magazinele de speialitate din intrega lume.
