Descriere
Infiintata in 1823 de James Findlater, pe locul unei distilerii ilicite mai vechi, Mortlach a fost prima distilerie legala din Dufftown. A fost singura distilerie din Dufftown pana la infiintarea Glenfiddich in 1887, fondatorul acesteia din urma, William Grant, lucrand la distileria Mortlach timp de 20 de ani inainte de a-si deschide el propria distilerie. Intre ani 1823 si 1853 distileria a trecut de la un propietar la altul, la un moment dat chiar devenind berarie. In 1923 John Walker &
Sons au cumparat distileria si o mare parte din whisky-ul sau a fost folosit in amestecurile Johnnie Walker.Mortlach 18 ani este un single malt scotch whisky de 18 ani lansat in 2014, ca parte a unui nou sortiment din distilerie, alaturi de Rare Old si 25 Year Old si exclusivistul special pentru calatorii. Mortlach a a vut o imbuteliere oficiala mai mica in ultimii ani insa din 2014 acest lucru s-a schimbat. Acest single malt este maturat intr-o combinatie de butoaie de stejar american in care au fost sherry, acest single malt este prezentat intr-o sticla foarte izbitoare, cu un cadru metalic fantezist la baza sa.Miros: Buchetul acestui single malt te izbeste la inceput cu o aroma de nuca, urmata de condimente precum ghimbirul si scortisoara combinate cu mere verzi si coaja de lamaieGust: Gustul acestui single malt incepe cu note de caramel urmate de stejar, tutun si migdale combinate cu note vibrante de fructe tropicaleFinish: Finish-ul prezinta note de citrice, cafea si tutun
