In zona Speyside din Ballindalloch, Scotia, se afla Distileria Glenfarclas. Numele de Glenfarclas vine tradus ca vale a ierbii verzi. Distileria este intretinuta si administrata de a a 6-a generatie a celor din familia Grant cu o traditie de peste 150 de ani in acest domeniu. Exista totusi dovezi cum ca distileria a inceput operatiunile cu ceva timp inainte de 1791, insa aceasta a primit pentru prima data o licenta de productie in 1836 cand era condusa de Robert Hay, inar in 1865 aceasta a fost cumparat de John Grant si este inca detinnuta de urmasii sai, ceea ce face ca distileria sa fie intradevar independenta.Glenfarclas 17 ani este un malt deosebit cu caracteristici conturate in perioada lunga de maturare. Acest sotiment este complex si echilibrat, dezvaluind in fiecare picatura un buchet aromatic proaspat si condimentat cu accente imprumutate de la butoaiele de sherry in care isi petrece maturarea. Exact cum se asteptam de la aceasta distilerie, Glenfarclas 17 ani, are profunzime si un caracter aparte.Miros: Complex cu note de cafea, unt, curmale si note de malt.Gust: Plin si bogat, incalzeste palatul cu note de nucsoara, cirese, scortisoara si coji mixte.Finish: Lung si picat cu note dulci si indicii de fum spre final.
