In jurul anului 1815, doi frati, Donald si Alexander Johnston, au inchiriat undeva in jur de 500 de hectare in Islay pentru a creste vite. Aceste teren este cunoscut acum sub numele de Laphroaig. Anul de dezvoltare si revitalizare a distileriei a fost anul 1921 cand Ian Hunter, fiul lui William Hunter a preluat conducerea distileriei, facand ca pana in 1923 capacitata lui Laphroaig sa se dubleze si malturile, asa cum sunt si in zilele noastre, sa fie finalizate.Acest single malt incredibil de rafinat de 25 de ani este o casatorie neterminata de arome de sherry dobandite de la butoaiele de sherry Oloroso si a notelor dulci de vanilie de la butoiele de stejar folosit anterior pentru bourbon. Acest sortiment de 25 de ani este unul dintre cele mai unice dintre toate whisky-urile single malt, cu un caracter exceptional.Miros: Aromele acestui single malt sunt de vanilie dulce si condimente de lemn si fum imbinate cu note de slanina afumata cu fructe uscate.Gust: Gustul acestui single malt este unul cremos cu o textura completa si piperata cu note picante si note de fum de unde se simte o nota subtila de mere verziFinish: Finish-ul este unul lung si stratificat de unde se resimt valuri de fum si note piperate si picante
