Descriere
Rebeliunea din anul 1745 a impartit Scotia in doua in acea vreme, punand fata in fata clanuri versus clanuri. In jurul anului 1815, doi frati, Donald si Alexander Johnston, au inchiriat undeva in jur de 500 de hectare in Islay pentru a creste vite. Aceste teren este cunoscut acum sub numele de Laphroaig. Au urmat multe alte probleme dupa acest an, razboaie, foamete insa in anul de dezvoltare si revitalizare a distileriei a fost anul 1921 cand Ian Hunter, fiul lui William Hunter a preluat conducerea distileriei, facand ca pana in 1923, capacitata lui Laphroaig s-a dublat, si malturile, asa cum sunt si in zilele noastre, au fost finalizate.Laphroaig 18 ani a fost introdus ca si inlocuitor pentru sortimentul de 15 ani (whisky-ul favorit al printului Charles), acesta fiind o expresie mai puternica si imbuteliat la o valoare a alcoolemiei de 48%. Acest sortiment de Laphroaig valoreaza fiecare banut si este in liga grea in fata sortimentelor de 10 si 12 ani din punct de vedere al complexitatii si intrigii. Este sortimentul perfect pentru iubitorii de turba. Acest sortiment este imbatranit in butoaie de stejar american in care a fost bourbon.Miros: Buchetul este usor picant si cu note puternice de turbaGust: Primul gust este o dulceata de stejar, apoi vin notele de fum si notele de nuci si toffeFinish: Finish-ul este neted si lung
