Descriere
Rebeliunea din anul 1745 a impartit Scotia in doua in acea vreme, punand fata in fata clanuri versus clanuri. In jurul anului 1815, doi frati, Donald si Alexander Johnston, au inchiriat undeva in jur de 500 de hectare in Islay pentru a creste vite. Aceste teren este cunoscut acum sub numele de Laphroaig. Au urmat multe alte probleme dupa acest an, razboaie, foamete insa in anul de dezvoltare si revitalizare a distileriei a fost anul 1921 cand Ian Hunter, fiul lui William Hunter a preluat conducerea distileriei, facand ca pana in 1923, capacitata lui Laphroaig s-a dublat, si malturile, asa cum sunt si in zilele noastre, au fost finalizate.Laphroaig Triple Wood este o extensie a expresiei Quarter Cask si este speciala pentru maturarea sa tripla, ceea ce creeaza un amestec unic intre semnatura Laphroaig afumata cu turba cu notele mai moi de mirodenii si fructe. Prima maturare se face in foste butoaie de bourbon, a doua maturare se face in butoaie de sfert iar a treia maturare in butoaie de stejar european folosite anterior pentru sherry Oloroso. Ultima etapa perimte o maturare lenta care duce la o aroma moale, complexa si rotunda.Miros: Mirosul acestui single malt emana arome de stafide dulci si caise cu nuante de turbaGust: Gustul se prezinta cu arome cremoase de vanilie si fructe cu o nuanta de dulceata sherryFinish: Finish-ul este unul lung echilibrat de un gust dulce de caramel neted
