Descriere
Rebeliunea din anul 1745 a impartit Scotia in doua in acea vreme, punand fata in fata clanuri versus clanuri. In jurul anului 1815, doi frati, Donald si Alexander Johnston, au inchiriat undeva in jur de 500 de hectare in Islay pentru a creste vite. Aceste teren este cunoscut acum sub numele de Laphroaig. Au urmat multe alte probleme dupa acest an, razboaie, foamete insa in anul de dezvoltare si revitalizare a distileriei a fost anul 1921 cand Ian Hunter, fiul lui William Hunter a preluat conducerea distileriei, facand ca pana in 1923, capacitata lui Laphroaig s-a dublat, si malturile, asa cum sunt si in zilele noastre, au fost finalizate.Laphroaig Quarter Cask este un single malt ce ofera o dublare irezistibila a aromei datorita dublei maturari in doua tipuri de butoaie din stejar american. Dupa ce whisky-ul este maturat in foste butoaie de bourbon este apoi transferat in butoaie de sfert si lasat sa se odihneasca in depozitele de pe malul oceanului Atlantic. Acest proces reprezinta un stil vechi in noile metode ale lui Laphroaig, care tine bautura in butoaie mai mici ca dimensiune ceea ce face ca bautura sa obtina un contact crescut cu stejarul, care creeaza o senzatie moale si catifelata a whisky-ului.Miros: Aroma acestui whisky este cea de turba arsa cu note de nuca de cocos si bananeGust: Gustul este unul adanc si complex, usor afumat si dulceagFinish: Finish-ul este unul extrem de lung si uscat cu note de fum si condimente
