Distileria Lagavulin dateaza oficial din anul 1816, cand John Johnston si Archibald Champbell Brooks au construit doua distilerii pe acelasi teren, unul dintre ei devenind Lagavulin, prelunda cealalta distilerie. In 1887, Peter Mackie a ajuns la distilerie, sub a carui mana calauzitoare distileria si numele Lagavulin, urma sa devina un reper important in lumea single malt-urilor din Islay si din Scotia.Lagavulin 8 ani a fost lansat in anul 2016, cand distilatorii din Islay au decis sa adauge acest sortiment in gama lor de baza permanenta. Asa cum a spus Alfred Barnard (autorul The Whisky Distilleries din UK) despre un Lagavulin de 8 ani in anii 1880: exceptional de bine. Acesta single malt whisky este o expresie tanara de la Lagavulin insa care pastreaza aceleasi caracteristici de neconfundat si acealsi fum de Islay ca oricare din sortimentele Lagavulin.Miros: Popcorn sarat, nuci prajite cu miere, nuante usoare de lemn de cedru si o dulceata de zahar persista in buchetul acestui single maltGust: Turba afumata, urmata de coriandru, orz, chimen, piper si marzipan dau gust acestui single maltFinish: Finish mediu cu note de mar si migdale prajte si o lavitura de condimente pe final
