Distileria Highland Park este indiscutabil destul de izolata, insulele unde se afla fiind extrem de independente care erau candva asezate la rascruce intre culturile nordice si scotiene si fiind conduse de regii Vikingi ai Norvegiei si Danemarcei. Inslua Orkney, unde se afla distileria, a fost condusa in perioada anilor 800 - 1468 de o succesiune de regi Vikingi, unii extrem de intelepti iar altii extrem de rai. Highland Park este facut astazi asa cum era facut si in 1789, folosing 5 elemente cheie ale productiei. Nici o alta distilerie nu foloseste toate cele 5 elemente cheie, deci nici un alt whisky nu are gust ca Highland Park.Pregatindu-se pentru lupta, razboinicii vikingi au crezut ca pot folosi puterea si rezistenta marelui urs, infasurandu-se in pielea sa. Acesti razboinici neinfricati au devenit cunoscuti ca berserkers, numele lor derivand din vechile cuvinte norvergiene ber-bear - urs si sekr-skin - piele. Intens, cu o aroma indrazneata Highland Park Spirit of the Bear este inspirat din natura rezistenta a stramosilor vikingi si independenta acerba, caracteristici ce stau in centrul productiei acestui single malt de azi.Miros: Bucehtul acestui single malt se recunoaste dupa notele de turba si notele de briose scufundate in cafea si miere proaspataGust: Gustul este caracterizat de noele de coaja de portocala si ghimbir si notele afumate cu indicii de orzFinish: Finish-ul este unul mediu cu note de lemn de santal si malt vanilat
